The success of the Trail of Lights Austin depends on involvement from the community and the volunteer efforts of businesses and individuals alike. Thirsty Planet Brewing Company Turns One!
(Austin, July, 2011) On July 9, 2011, approximately 200 Austinites, prominent restaurant and bar owners and Beer Lovers gathered at Thirsty Planet Brewing Company (11160 Circle Drive, Austin TX 78736) to celebrate their first anniversary.
Under the Austin sun, guests of the sold-out party enjoyed food from Salt & Time, Jaimie’s Spanish Village, Try Sarah Pops, Antonelli’s and Sentilli’s Bakery while sampling various beers offered that day.
Tunes from local-Austin musician, Lucas Cook (lucascookmusic.com) filled the air as the following beers were sampled-by party goers: full-production beers like Thirsty Goat Amber, Yellow Armadillo Wheat, Buckethead IPA, and Double Buckethead IPA as well as small batch beers like the Semper Rye Pale, ESB, Hoppy Birthday IPA, Smokey the Beer Smoked Porter, and ChiGOATle.
Owner Brain Smittle, toasted the crowd and thanked everyone for the continued support of Thirsty Planet Brewing Company in Austin. His wife, Tammy Smittle, stated, “Today is like a big family reunion with everyone who has helped us and supported us this past year.”
Thirsty Planet looks forward to continuing to celebrate for many years to come!

The Inaugural CEO Summit 2011
(Austin, May, 2011) Electric Monkey was excited to work with the Austin Technology Council (ATC) to project manage, plan and promote the Inaugural CEO Summit 2011 that was a day-long event held on Thursday, May 19, 2011. There were over 100 of the top tech company leaders at the event including high-tech companies such as Facebook Inc., Gazzang Inc., IBM, Microsoft, Otherbox, SailPoint Technologies, Samsung, as well as many others. The CEO Summit was held at the Four Seasons Hotel downtown and also included speeches by both Mayor Lee Leffingwell and Governor Rick Perry.
Gov. Rick Perry accepts an award for ‘Technology Champion of the Year’ after a speech to a group of tech CEO’s on Thursday from Julie Huls, President of ATC and Larry Warnock, CEO of Gazzang Inc. “I do believe that (Austin’s) positioned to be the next really big deal – better than Silicon Valley,” Perry said.
